Anniversary of August 19th

The SRSG, Mr. Ad Melkert received the Sergio Vieira de Mello Prize on behalf of UNAMI by the Jury of the Prize composed of the High Representative of the President of the Republic of Poland, Ambassadors of Brazil and Sweden to Poland, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Polish Institute of National Remembrance, Polish Commissioner for Civil Rights Protection, founders of the Prize, and the Chairman and Director of the Villa Decius Association, The ceremony took place during The Challenges of Freedom conference on 8-9 October 2009 at Villa Decius in Krakow, Poland. The Ceremony of awarding UNAMI the Sergio Vieira de Mello Prize was attended by the Jury of the Prize, conference experts, students and media people.
